Travel Brochure
This Webquest offers multiple learning skills to the pupils. Not only are they to practice the skill of filtering information (given the diverse preferences of the members in the family), they are also able to organize the selected information in the most attractive way to appeal to the various members (i.e. in a form of a brochure).

Through this Webquest also, pupils get to learn the technical and aesthetics that come with brochure designing. Learning is maximised as pupils drapple with various experiments that includes layout designing and colour mix-matching. Through this exercise too, they will discover the power of words to entice, attract and convince.
A concern that i have with regards to this Webquest is time. The pupils have to consider the preferences of 4 members in the family, each differs in age and outcomes (from the trip).

Additionally, such an exercise requires pupils to have a good grasp of organizational and interpretation (of information) skills. Presented with an overwhelming amount of information could be too much for the skills to juggle. It would require a lot of scaffolding and guiding from the teacher.
Dinosaur
I like the individual fact sheet on the various dinosaurs. The teacher streamlined the choices by limiting the choices to the 15 species highlighted in the Webquest. This helps to prevent any wastage of time from the pupils to look for species of their choice.
I do not really like this Webquest. It is not as attractive as the first one on Henderson travel brochure. Aesthetics wise, it will appeal as much. The resources given by the links are also too wordy. too complex (i.e. language) and the site may not be that user friendly for the pupils.

Similarly, there are too many task outcomes expected from this Webquest exercise. With time, this may not be possible. The task should be more focus and narrow to achieve the desired skills at the end of the lesson.
